If there is no work stoppage and the game is played as scheduled, it will be held on February 5, 2012 at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana. This would be the first time that the Super Bowl is held in Indianapolis. This would also be only the fourth time that the Super Bowl is held in a cold-weather city, after Minneapolis's hosting of Super Bowl XXVI and Detroit's hosting of Super Bowl XVI and Super Bowl XL.

There still seems to be some ambiguity to the make up of the panel and the development squad but the lads who were called up have been doing individual gym programmes for the last 2 months or so. I suppose challenge matches and the Waterford Crystal over the coming weeks will give us a good indication as to who he rates and what positions he will play them. It will be interesting to see who he picks at full and centre back as there are few real standout contenders for these spots.

You would hope that the likes of Cathal McInerney, Pat O'Connor and Conor McGrath kick on from their promising first seasons. There are plenty of decent young hurlers around but hard to see too many of them having an instant impact all the same. It is hugely important that we win a couple of league games against Limerick, Offaly and Wexford, we haven't had a win against a half decent team in nearly three years and given the young nature of our panel it is essential for their development that they start winning games against these teams.



There is going to be serious competition for places for the 21's in the coming year and you would be hopeful that the young lads can build on their fine form of the last couple of seasons at minor level. Although Waterford will be very strong and it will be a very tough Munster Semi final
